There is much in the way of parenting films these days, and there are even a handful of “young person accidentally gets pregnant” types out there. But very few touch on the feelings of a person surrounded by the parenting universe and feeling it’s pressure. There are seemingly endless Romantic Comedy’s that focus on the “young woman pressured to have a child is trying to make her relationship work” and all that nonsense, but what about a REAL WORLD situation? What about somebody telling a little white lie to fit in? Then what if that little white lie turns into a bigger, hilarious ordeal?

Written by, and starring Sonja Bennett (Random Acts of Romance) “Preggoland” follows 35-year-old Ruth who ruins a baby shower with her juvenile antics. Afterword, her old high school cronies (who are all mothers now) promptly de-friend her. But when she is later mistakenly thought to be ‘with child’ she is surprisingly welcomed back into the group. She initially tries to come clean, but the perks of pregnancy are far too seductive to ignore, and she soon finds herself living a lie. Co-starring Dany Trejo, James Caan, and Paul Campbell, check out this comedy about our societal obsession with babies and the lengths we’ll go to be part of a club.
