Ep 81: Homeless For The Holidays

Ep 80.2This week we welcomed a very special guest to the show–Gary Isaacs, organizer of the Homeless For The Holidays 5K Run in Philadelphia. The run is this Sunday, December 27th at FDR Park in Philly. We had a really great conversation with Gary, discussing the beginnings of the foundation–which was started in honor of his late son, Kevan, and his passion for helping the homeless. This is such an important cause for everyone, so please, give it a listen. If you’re local, and a runner, please do what you can to get out and participate. If you aren’t local and want to help, check out the website to donate.

Online registration for the “Homeless For The Holidays 5K Run/2.5K Walk” can be found at www.homelessfortheholidays.org. Walk-up registration will begin at 8:30 a.m and participants will receive a $5.00 registration discount online or in person if they bring a pair of new gloves, socks, or thermal underwear for an adult or child to the event.

Participants of all ages can run the chip-timed 5K (3.1 mi) or walk the 2.5K (1.55 mi) distance along the flat, paved inner park roadway, which will be closed to traffic.
